SHOULD I PUNISH MY PET FOR ITS BEHAVIOUR?

An animal should not be punished (physically or verbally) for a behaviour that an owner finds inconvenient, damaging or dangerous. Research has shown that confrontational approaches to behaviour problems are associated with a GREATER risk of aggression. Owners should prevent, NOT punish the pet for problem behaviours, and then arrange for qualified help for an effective long-term plan.
